TORMAX UK supplied and commissioned advanced door automation for the striking new visitor reception and retail space at West Dean, Chichester. Working in partnership with Precision Glass Ltd, TORMAX automated two impressive 2.5m-high glazed sliding door entrances, ensuring seamless access for everyone between the new reception/shop and the renowned gardens beyond.

Central to both access points are the TORMAX iMotion 2202 sliding door operators, specified for their ability to deliver safe, reliable performance while handling large, heavy glazed door leaves. Reflecting West Deans' environmental ethos, the iMotion 2202 operators deliver energy-efficient operation alongside safe, reliable door movement. Their direct-drive design reduces wear, maintenance interventions and component replacement over the lifetime of the installation

Further supporting a sustainable approach, the opening and closing speeds, and hold-open times of the doors can be precisely configured to reflect weather conditions and foot traffic levels, minimising energy consumption and potential heat loss.

Set within an historic estate near Chichester, West Dean is one of the South of England’s most celebrated horticultural destinations, attracting visitors year-round with their restored Victorian glasshouses, productive kitchen gardens and beautifully maintained landscapes.
